Robert “Bob” Fitzgerald, 76

Dunbarton, NH, Bob Fitzgerald, formerly of Norton, passed away peacefully at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH on August 28, 2011. Born in Boston, MA on February 27, 1935, He was the son of John “Jack”, and Margaret “Elsie” Brennan Fitzgerald. He was the husband of Beverly Costa Fitzgerald, of Dunbarton, NH.                                                                           

He was raised in Norton and attended Norton schools, he was a member of the Norton Tigers baseball team in high school. He joined the Navy when he was 17, after discharge he worked for Harco’s Poultry Farm in Easton and retired from Agway.  He has resided in Dunbarton, NH for the past 23 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, bow hunting, scuba diving and spear fishing. He was also an avid motorcyclist.

He leaves 3 daughters and 5 sons, Shelley Mowry of Norton, Barbara Sousa of East Taunton, Lisa Tumminello of Hollywood, FL, Robert Fitzgerald of Norton, Michael Fitzgerald of Norton, Richard Fitzgerald of Bellingham, John “Jack” Fitzgerald of Norton, and Matthew Fitzgerald of Warner, NH, and 16 grandchildren.  He is also survived by 3 sisters, and a brother, Barbara Almeda of Raynham, Bertha Ferrier of Taunton, Patricia Pestana of Englewood, FL, and Thomas Fitzgerald of Middleboro, also many nieces and nephews.

 He was the grandfather of the late Nicole K. Fitzgerald, and Joel M.  Durham, Jr., and the great-grandfather of the late Elliana Fitzgerald.

He also leaves 3 step-daughters and their families, who lovingly called him ”Dad, and Grandpa”, Carrie Costa of Derry, NH, Paula Costa Therrault of Portsmouth, RI, and Cynthia Costa Durham of Deering, NH

.A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by French and Rising Funeral Home, Goffstown, NH.
