Robert L. Jensen, 75, of Clinton, died on Friday, March 21st, 2014 at home.He was born to the late George and Arlene (Haines) Jensen, September 23rd, 1938 in Kenosha, WI. Bob graduated from Kenosha High School in 1956 and went on to receive a teaching degree from the Wisconsin Teacher’s College and later a Masters from UW Whitewater. He married Mary A. Paynter on June 8, 1968 at the First Presbyterian Church and lived in Clinton, WI.

Bob began his teaching career at Pleasant Prairie Schools, teaching Art and English. In 1966 he moved to Clinton to become the Junior High School Principal. In 1979 Bob was promoted to be the Superintendent of Clinton Schools, a position he held until he retired in 1998.

Throughout his career and into retirement, art always remained his passion. Whether painting signs for the community or creating original children’s books for family and friends, Bob quietly found a way to show how much he cared about other people.

Bob was very active in his church, serving as a Deacon and on the Session for several years. He also spent many hours volunteering, from visiting the elderly at nursing homes to sending handmade cards to sick children in the hospital.

Bob shared a love of travel with his wife Mary and cherished the time they spent with their children and grandchildren. Those who knew him will forever remember his thoughtfulness and generosity.

Bob is survived by his wife Mary (Paynter) Jensen; Three children: Jeff (Ellen) Jensen of Clinton, WI, Jay (Christina) Jensen of Janesville, WI, and Jan (Mark) Jensen Davis of New York, NY; Two brothers: George Jensen of Baileys Harbor, WI and David (Mary) Jensen of Kalamazoo, MI; Six grandsons: Ean, Connor, Riley, Trent, Evan and Reid. He was predeceased by his twin brother Roger Jensen.

Friends will be received on Friday, March 28th, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Clinton High School gymnasium. No formal visitation is planned on Saturday. Bob’s Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 29, 2014 in the First Presbyterian Church, 312 Church Street, Clinton with Rev. Courtney Ellis officiating. Lunch will be served for the family immediately following.
