Mr. Robert Lee Scott, the oldest son of the late Earnest (Sr.) and Willie Rose Winston Scott was born July 25, 1936 in Chambers County, AL. Late Wednesday evening, August 19,2015, God called him home to be at rest..

Robert united with the Goodsell United Methodist Church at a young age and served faithfully until his health failed.


“Sonny”, as he was known to many, received his education in the Lanett City School System, where he was a member of the 1965 graduating class of Lanier High School. In 1959, Robert united in Holy Matrimony to Hazel Watts and into this union two sons were born.

During Robert’s younger years he was employed with Hagedorn’s Clothing Store and The Clothes Rack Store of West Point, GA and Opelika, AL until their closing. Later he became employed by West Pepperell and West Point Steven, where he remained until his retirement.

“Sonny” was a caring and sharing family man with wisdom that was deeply rooted for his wife, family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Hazel W. Scott, Lanett, AL; two sons, Robert Earl. Scott , Karl Ethan Scott, Lanett, AL; one daughter, Monique Barber, West Point, GA; brother, Earnest(Fannie) Scott, Jr., Lanett, AL; five grandchildren, Karl O Scott, Sherika Scott, Brent Scott, Lanett, AL; Tameria Barber, Lazaiden Phillips, West Point, GA; five great grandchildren, Paris, London, Brentain, Harmonee and Jaden,one dauther-in-law, Della Scott, West Point, GA; two brothers-in-law, Rev. Curtis Watts, Roanoke, AL; Rev. Lawrence Watts, Birmingham, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
