Robert “R.M.” Marvin Currin, 90, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at Hillcrest Convalescent Center in Durham.
A native of Granville County, the son of the late John Spencer Currin Sr. and Lizzie Blackwell Currin. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and retired from Kenan Oil Company.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Fellowship Baptist Church on Beaver Dam Road in Creedmoor by Rev. Dan Hill and Scottie Currin. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving are two sons, Terry Currin (Nancy) of Durham, Richard Currin of Creedmoor, a daughter, Jeanette C. Bass (Kenny) of Durham, a sister, Louise C. Hopson of Yanceyville, six grandchildren, Scott Currin (Allison), Anita Watkins, Crystal Hicks(Al), Chad Bass (Sarah), Adam Bass, Anna Bass, great grandchildren, Alyssa, Zachary and Emma Currin, Megan and Emily Watkins.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, February 27, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.

"R. M. loved the Lord and loved his family. He was a hard worker. I remember many years ago, Mom talked about R.M. working at the Oil Company. He was a good man. As long as he was able, he was at the family reunions. I am sure he is with his beloved wife Maggie in heaven now."
