September 25, 1977 - April 9, 2012 St. Joseph, MO Robert Owen DeGrote, 34, of St. Joseph, MO died Monday, April 9, 2012.                                    He was born September 25, 1977 to James Elwood and Elizabeth Ann (Wright) DeGrote in Goshen, NY. ... Mr. DeGrote was employed by People's Furniture, loved baseball, and was an avid bowler. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Jimmy. Survivors include his father and step-mother, James DeGrote (Linda Borger), St. Joseph; his children: Devon, Kailey, and Dylan; sisters: Debra DeGrote (Dennis Johnston), Lenore Privett (Darrin), Lisa Feinberg (Steven), Sherri DeGrote, Elizabeth Padgett (Mike); numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 13 at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 12 at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The Family suggests memorial gifts to Diabetes Foundation.
