My big Bubba

September 15, 2014

wow! Not sure where to start...below are a few of the stories about my Bubba Bobby

* Nick names - he always had special names for everyone....mine was "Nanna" then progressed to "Nanna Bananna". I am told when I was born and mom brought me home, mom introduce me to Bobby and Vicky as thei news baby sister "Deanna". Bobby couldn't say Deanna but said "ah, our lil Nanna".

He called Vicky "Bicky", Brandy "Brandy Marie", Lynette "Sissy Woo" and Raymond "my Buddy", "Ray Ray", "Sugar Ray", "Lil Brother" or "Krazy Ray"

* Motorcycle story - one day Bobby showed up on a Kawasaki motorcycle and asked me if I wanted to go on a ride. I anxiously jumped on and we rode out to Rio Linda where we grew up at one time. He asked me if I wanted to learn how to ride it. although I was really young I said yes and he tight me how to shift gears and before I knew it I was driving the motorcycle ....with my big Bubba on the back laughing like crazy.

* I discouraged anyone from cutting school  .... when we would cut schoo(Bobby, me and Vicky ) we would catch a bus and go downtown. We would just hang out and look around in the shops. When someone would stop us on the street and ask where our parents were and why we weren't in school, I would act blind and they would say they were taking me to meet up with our mother. Our poor mom, we were a handful growing up.

* I remember Bobby mowing yards for money. He would go around the neighborhood and make money by mowing yards. He loved would go up to this store and buy sunflower seeds. He loved sunflower seeds. He loved to ride his bicycle and skateboard. He was really good at doing tricks on them.

* there was a time I had been watching a Self defense maneuver on TV. What to do if someone come up behind you and grabs you. It showed how to grab the arm and flip them over your back. Bobby loved to do this thing where he would bip bop you upside the head. Well he came in and stared doing it to me so I grabbed him by the arm just like they shied on TV and flipped him over my back. He landed on his back on the living room floor. I'll never forget the look on my moms and Bobby's face. Bobby was laughing histerically. They couldn't believe what had just happened. I was surprised myself.

* something our big Bubba used to do....when Raymond was little and starting to walk, he would be running around and mom would ask us to watch him while she was busy doing other things. After chasing Ray around the house we were tired of trying to keep up with him. Our house had this coat hook on the back of our front door. Raymond was wearing overalls so Bobby got this brilliant idea to hook Ray up on the back of the door by his overalls. We were all laughing which caused Raymond to start laughing and he began moving his feet like he was running. This of course made us all laugh even harder.

My brother Bobby was a very loving man with a big sense of humor. He loved his mom, brother and sister dearly. He always told us he loved us and ALWAYS sent us a card on our birthdays....sometime self made. He was a very creative man. I miss him so much and can't wait to see him again in heaven. I love you, signed, Nanna banana

our brother

When we lived on McArthur street  across the freeway from Connies drive up....he took me Ray and maybe Lynette ..with him in Moms car to the store and it was raining... I clearly remember the song "I love the rainy nights" was on and I was sitting on my knees in the big ol' front seat and Ray and Lynette were standing up in the seat...we went past this muddy field and Bobby turned around and drove in that field and did 360's in the mud all around ..we were scared at first but he turned up that song and we were all laughing and holding on...over and over ....I will never forget those things...he was a crazy but a GOOD big brother and he loves his bubba and sissy's. Fun time, until mom saw her car I'm sure ...hopefully the rain washed some of the mud off.. I remember the muddy winshield and he had the wipers on...
