Roberta “Bobbi” Powell, (nee Schaffer), 72, of Villas, NJ, was called home by her Lord and Savior on May 20, 2013.

Bobbi was a Paramedic for 28 years, serving with Virtua Health and AtlanticCare.

Bobbi is a Master Gardener, a member of the Gardening by the Sea Club and the Women’s Community Club of Cape May.

She enjoyed reading, researching the internet, volunteering and sending greeting cards.

She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Powell, Sr., her mother Dorothy Schmutz and father Ralph Schaffer.

She is survived by her children, Jo-Ann Toldt (Charles), Patricia Sontos-Alston and Benjamin Powell, Jr., her grandchildren Charles, Wayne, Melanie, Justin and Gary, great grandson Wayne, and soon to arrive great grand daughter Evelyn. Also surviving are sister Diane Jackson and brother Ralph Schaffer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and her fuzzy feline Smirnoff.

Family and friends may visit with the family Thurs., May 23 from 7-9PM at FERTIG FUNERAL HOME 63 N. Main St., Mullica Hill, NJ. Bobbi’s funeral service will be held Friday at 10AM in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 212 N. Main St., Glassboro, NJ. Green Burial will follow at Steelmantown Cemetery, Woodbine, NJ.

Given Bobbi’s love of gardening and nature, the family requests the planting of shrubs, trees or flowers in her honor to beautify the earth.
