Her Life
January 28, 2014

Born in Eugene, Oregon (Or-a-gun... Orry isnt gone as she loved to say) on July 18th 1955, Mom enjoyed a full life with her adoptive parents Marian and Arthur Richardson.  She was so lucky to have had the ability to take part in many activities such as Ballet, Swimming and even Finishing School!  Of course the Finishing school was lost on her as she prefered to camp, hike and play sports instead of the girly activities Grammy would have liked her to do!  Mom always said that her version of sewing included Duct tape instead of a needle and thread.  She also had the most "interesting" cooking adventures. I love the story of her making me a can of soup but forgetting to add the water which of course resulted in one disgusting meal... or the strange things she would concoct as meals such as jam and ham sandwiches.  Mom was definitely not the cook in our house growing up.

Mom met Dad in Edmonton Alberta while working in the entertainment industry together and were married in 1983 and welcomed me (Stacy) in 1985.  Daniel  came soon after in 1989 and we settled in Victoria B.C. and have enjoyed the westcoast lifestyle ever since.

Daniel and I were fortunate enough to have Mom give up a career in order to stay home with us.  We never came home to an empty house, always had someone at our sporting events and performances and had a ride whenever and wherever we needed.  This continued on in to our late teenaged years and early 20's.  Mom was known to pick us up in the wee hours of the night to ensure a safe trip home, always with a smile on her face and a coffee in her hand!

After the passing of Grammy, Mom decided to locate her birth mother and was fortunate enough to meet her biological mother Fran.  She was also excited to learn of her half brothers and sister and was recently in Tacoma, WA to visit them.

In 2012, Mom had the pleasure of meeting the light of her life when my daughter Hailey was born. Mom loved her more than anything and the feelings were mutual.  The two of them were fast friends and loved to go for walks together at Goldstream park. Hailey called her Gamma and would often times call Mom and have chats over the phone about all kinds of interesting things.  They were the best of friends!
