Her Life

Helping those in need...

May 25, 2014

Rob certainly believed in helping others...during her life, and in death.

I received the follow information from The California Transplant Donor Network, and wanted you to share in the joy it brings.

"Both of Robin's kidneys were successfully transplanted. One of the
kidney recipients is a 60-year-old man from Kentucky. He is married and has
a daughter and a son. The recipient of the other kidney is a 59-year-old
woman who lives in New Jersey and has a son. These recipients are each
looking forward to healthier and more active lives, free of dialysis.

Robin's liver was also successfully transplanted. The recipient is a 63-year-old man who lives in the Bay Area. He is married and has a daughter and
son as well. He would not have survived without this lifesaving transplant.
Because of your sister's generosity, she has forever changed the life of this
recipient, as well as the lives of his family and friends.

Robin's lungs and heart were recovered for research. There are multiple studies
underway in the Bay Area and this authorization for research will help them
tremendously as they look for ways to advance medical knowledge."

How wonderful is this news; Rob continues to work her magic in the lives of others.

A brief glimpse...

October 17, 2013

After 61-years, 1-month, and 8-days, Robin Durel Welling…the daughter of a U.S. Army officer, and a UC Davis executive assistant; surrounded by love of the St. John’s Episcopal parish in Petaluma, and embraced by those at Matanzas Creek Winery who made her work there so fulfilling and joyful, departed the planet with the grace, dignity, and wit that marked her life.  For those of you who included Robin in your lives and showed kindness to her, you have the heartfelt thanks of our grateful family.

If you would like to honor Robin, hold a door open for someone for no reason other than as an act of kindness; hug someone you love; make the donation you’ve been putting off to that worthy charitable organization; bring a bag of groceries to your local shelter/relief center/church…In other words, reach out and exceed your current grasp, all while making a difference in someone’s life.  Imagine a world where it is commonplace for each of us to do just that for someone we do not know…One of Rob’s life lessons to us all.
