His Life

Affectionately known as "Jerry or Rock" by family and friends, Mr. Jenkins was born in Meridian, MS to the late Pink and Louella Nelson Jenkins. He was a 1965 graduate of Harris High School, and was a U. S. Navy Veteran who was discharged honorably in 1969. He also served as a Navy Reservist for six years. He was employed with Georgia Power Company before retiring from Norfolk-Southern Railroad. He earned his real estate and broker's agent licenses. He was a member of the Carver Heights Presbyterian Church where he served with the Evangelism and Outreach Programs, Presbyterian Men's Ministry and Choir.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, Sylvester and Alfornia Jenkins and Alice Cager.

Survivors include: his wife of 45 years, Mrs. Carolyn T. M. Jenkins; four brothers, Rev. Frank Jenkins (Felicia), Clarence Jenkins (Joyce), Rev. Calvin Jenkins (Lillie) and David Jenkins (Bettye); a beloved sister-in-law, Johnnie Jenkins; a niece, Lenora Thomas; two nephews, Billy Joe Jenkins (Helen) and Benny Ray Jenkins; great nieces, Elizabeth Brown (Ernest),Caroline Hamilton and Brinda Fulton (Coy); loving in-laws, cousins, other relatives and friends.
