Memorial Tributes
Candle lit by Trish Turner on 10th February 2012

"I am so emotional, it was your birthday yesterday and this is the first chance I've had to light a candle. Yesterday I woke up and was feeling very strange, I said oh it's mama's birthday, I also felt numb, my eyes filled with tears. I miss you soooooooo much mama, and I thank you for all the lessons you've taught me throughout my life. you are now and will always be with me."

Candle lit by ANGELA GILLIAM on 9th February 2012

"Oh, Roho, how much I miss talking politics with you.  So glad to see your picture at this site where you remind me of Nelson Mandela.  While I was in Brazil in November, Paulo Silva and I talked about how grateful and surprised we all were to hear your fabulous voice sing Summertime at that party he took you, Toni and me to.  You still inspire our love, and definitely my activism."

Candle lit by Heather Sparks on 9th February 2012

"My mother Betty MacGregor does not have internet so am putting this in at her request.  On Jan 9th, 2012, she was thinking of Roho when she wrote a letter to the editor of the Yakima-Herald Republic as follows:  "I flinch when I read or hear the phrase "majority minority".  We have created a descriiption that again assures whites are superior and in control".  You are greatly missed Roho!!"

Candle lit by Toni Patillo on 9th February 2012

"Mom,
I am so emotionally moved today. It's your birthday 2012 and I miss you so much. It hit me in such a big way, it's as though I've been numb until now. Tears of joy and sadness flow and yet you are here. Thank you again for your tireless, endless love and quality of life that you've given us."
