This is to acknowledge my profound gratitude, respect & admiration to a very good man Romy R. Zabal my buddy & pal, and my compadre as well. The happy memories we shared many many years ago since 1970's with Freddie, Fred & few others will always remain in my heart and to continue on to our children. God bless you Romy & may your soul rest in peace in heaven!

I have known Nong Romy through Nang Lydia for a long time, and have met him on several family visits and family occasions. He has always displayed natural kindness, courtesy and respect for others. At the same time, his love and support for his family is second to none. What a small world when I would meet him several times in a restaurant in Kalibo. "On family project" he would say.

Nong Romy, you have been part of our extended family here in the US and you will be missed. May you rest in peace and in heaven...

When I was a little girl, I remember this tall handsome guy that my Mom was giving advise /instruction to...and he was so well dressed and I said to myself , wow he is good looking guy and he is my cousin. Next time I saw or heard from him, he was all talk about Althea this and Glen this. He was so proud of those two kids. As I mentioned before, he gave me my first $20.00 bill when I saw him in Savannah Georgia, and I was so happy because we were on our way to Disney with my brothers and sisters. Nong Romy you will be missed, specially you held the key to the family tree. You were one person that I knew who can tell a story about relatives and long lost relatives.

I ask for your prayers for the eternal repose of the soul of my cousin Romy Zabal who peacefully joined the Lord on August 6, 2015. We will soon say our final good-bye to a man who is loved by all. What can I say about Nong Romy that will honor him in the way he deserves? He was kind. He was easy going. Everyone liked Nong Romy. He always had a smile, a joke ready to lighten the mood or break the ice. He was wild about his family--especially his granddaughters.

He has lived a full and decent life that his entire family, especially Nang Lydia, Glenn and Althea, can be proud of.
