Her Life
December 3, 2015

Mrs. Carmichael was a product of the Milledgeville Public School System. After high school she attended Clark College, Atlanta, GA, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She taught primary grades in both Coweta and Troup counties. Mrs. Carmichael loved hymns of praise and worship. Their melodies always filled the air in her home whether she hummed along in perfect turn with the radio or as a talented musician, providing her own accompaniment on the piano or organ. Mrs. Carmichael was a very well known music teacher throughout the valley area. She inspired many of her students to continue their career in music.

She was the daughter of the late John and Susie Mae Wilson Kendrick. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Carmichael.

Relatives: She leaves a mark that cannot be erased on the lives of her two sons Jonathan V. (Donita), Arlington, TN and Jeffery (Cassaundra), Clearwater, FL; six grandchildren Jerelyn V. Carmichael, Hunter J. Irby, Loren M. Carmichael, Jonathan V. Carmichael, II, Camryn M. Carmichael, and Jordyn A. Carmichael. Her life also brought great joy to her brother Malchus Kendrick;  two brothers-in-law, W. F. Carmichael, Jr. and Anthony (Helen) Carmichael, both of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Laverne Kendrick, Milledgeville, Georgia and Brenda Carmichael, Atlanta, Georgia; and a very dear friend, Mrs. Doris Barber. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
