Mr. Roy Russell was born July 14, 1942 to the late Mr. Claude Russell and Mrs. Susie Mae Moon Russell.

Roy joined Darian Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Later he joined Mt. Zion.

He departed this life, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by six brothers: McCline "Mac", John Thomas, James Edward, Willie James, Chafton and Arthur Ray; one sister, Jettie Lee Russell Walker.

He is survived by: a exceptional, loving and devoted wife, Mary E. Russell of New Site, Alabama; three sons, Donnie Russell and Ronnie Russell of New Site, Alabama, Eric Russell of Tampa, Florida; two step-sons, Stanley (Kim) McCline of Montgomery, Alabama, Anthony (Pamela) McCline of Atlanta, Georgia; one grandson, Remington Russell of Tampa, Florida; five step-grandchildren:
a twin brother, TroyLee Russell of Alexander City, Alabama and -
Robert J. Russell of Mt. Vernon, New York; three sisters, Maxine Riggins of Alexander City, Alabama, Frozine (Robert) Clark of Mt. Vernon, New York and Ida Mae (Curtis) Owens of Sylacauga, Alabama; four sisters-in-law, Mattie Russell of Youngstown, Ohio, Louise Russell and Doris Russell of Alexander City, Alabama, Rose Drake of Coosa County, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
