Ruby Smith Moon, 89, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Monday May 13th, 2013 at Granville House in Oxford, NC.
A native of Wake County, she was the widow of William Lewis Moon and the daughter of the late Walter and Vashti Yeargin Smith. She was a member of West Oxford Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industries with 43 years of service.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 15 2013 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by the Reverend Wes Garner, Jr. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford.
Surviving are four sisters, Lois S. Hicks ,Jeanette S. Mangum and Ann S. Ellis (Dwight) of Garner, Gladys S. Medlin (Raymond) of Clayton, a brother Wade Smith of Raleigh and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Parker Smith and Simon Smith.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to West Oxford Baptist Church,PO Box 458, Oxford NC 27565.
Visitation will be held Wednesday May 15th, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:45 AM prior to the funeral service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home of Ricky and Barbara Satterwhite.
