Roaming in my old camper today; thoughts of you and a promise to see the parks. Never forgetting our adventures and the spark it left to encourage more. Miss you Granpa

Happy 100 Granpa
Granpa said to me once; as he backed in Slowly to the cold ocean, giggling; ”you can’t go to the ocean and not get it”. Granpa I’ve tried to live that since.
I miss that smiling face and wisdom

I'm thinking of you today on your birthday. You would have had a party I'll bet. And a pineapple upside down cake. I'll always miss you, dad.

Russ! I know you're out there. You and my dad, buddies again. I treasure the days spent at your table sharing memories. I always liked you, but in the final years I grew to love you.
As I used to say,"That's about it Russ." and you would say "Oh one more thing." and I would turn back for the hug and the kisses on our rough cheeks. I miss that and I miss you.

You were the quintessential uncle. Funny, clever, and always fun. I'll never forget you, or Aunt Evah, who was one of the sweetest, most gentle people I'll ever know. Goodby Uncle Russell.

Uncle Russ will forever be remembered by me and my family in New Jersey. Whether visiting him in Florida or Michigan- it was always a memorable experience. He brought such joy and happiness to the world. I will always remember him as a hard working man with strong physical and personality characteristics. My oldest Samantha had a great visit with him when she was a young child at Orlando's Mideival Times that we have fond memories of. We all loved him dearly and will miss him and Aunt Eva forever. Jersey Dave & Family

Uncle Russ, you were a man who always had a smile on his face, a story to share, an ear to listen & an invite to come and stay awhile; you WILL be forever missed!

Coming to your home with a van load of relatives for your birthday in Florida was such great fun that Jack & I never missed another one. That first group consisted of your oldest sister Gladys, her daughter Marilyn, your next sister Dot, her daughter Gail, your sister Shirley (my mom), me, & your cousin Mildred. We had such fun traveling there and back to Michigan - but the most fun was in your home, telling stories, laughing till our sides hurt & laughing some more. The party at the Lions Club for your birthday celebration was fun too. I'm so glad you invited us, hope everyone enjoyed the mostocholi and cherry pies! ( I knew cherry pie was your favorite)

The next year it was just Nick, Gail, Jack & I but we had a great time once again.

The following year you were in Kentucky & Nick & Gail, Betty & Jim, Jack & I with our grandson Alex and my mom Shirley were there to celebrate with you.

Keeping the family records of our reunions, I can't find a year you were not there until this year, you were missed!

Your firm handshake & welcoming smile will remain in our hearts forever - God bless you till we meet again, only next time you'll have a real crown rather than a paper one!

Love you, your nice Sherry Matthews
