Russell W. Beckett, 85, of Vineland, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at his home while under hospice care. Russell was born and raised in Newfield, NJ before moving to Vineland. He was the son of the late Gertrude (Whitney) and John W. Beckett.  

Russell served in the Army from 1951-1956 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of VFW Post 9112. Russell was a union painter and member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades before retirement. He enjoyed watching baseball, football and NASCAR.  He loved animals and was always there for his family.

He was predeceased by his wife Lois (Robinson) Beckett, son John Beckett, brother Wesley and his wife Mary (Capriotti) Beckett.

Russell is survived by his two other children, Russell Beckett and his wife Suzanne (Merritt) and granddaughter Erika of North Carolina, William Beckett and his wife Maureen (Bachman) of Delmont, daughter in-law Amanda (Downie) Beckett and granddaughter Sadie of Vineland as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 21, 2015 at 10:00am at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer 2384 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, NJ. Inurnment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery Newfield, NJ for those who wish.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland hospice by going to heartlandhospicefund.org and select Northfield.
