Ruth Marie Breedlove Boyd, 82, a longtime resident of Butner, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014.

A native of Vance Co, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Julia Belle Grissom Chandler. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Durham and was employed at Sears in Durham for twenty-nine years.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2014 at Rehoboth Methodist Church, 2975 Old Watkins Road, Henderson, NC 29537.

Surviving are her son, Jerry Lee Boyd (Diane) of Butner and a special caregiver, Gayle Gardner of Butner, Two Brothers, Ronnie Chandler and Junior Breedlove, her grandchildren, Justin Boyd, Jordan Boyd, Cory Boyd and Amber Boyd. She was predeceased in death by her husband John E. Boyd and her son, Larry E. Boyd.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral at Rehoboth Methodist Church and at other times at the home.

Dear Jerry and all of the Boyd family,
Wayne and I are truly sorry for your loss. Ruth will be greatly missed and even though hearts are heavy, there is peace in knowing that she is now enjoying pain free days with John and Larry.

Hey grandma, its Amber! I have really enjoyed spending this summer with you! You are the best. always remembering my birthdays and everything. You are a very caring woman. I love you so much and im so sad your gone, but i know you are being missed by every single one of US! You aren't hurting anymore. Too bad i couldn't always be there to see your face, just know i pray for you and hope that you hear me. RIP Mimi. I love you so deeply much. Words cant describe that your gone.... I miss you so much. Heres to the new year with a whole new life with grandpa up in heaven. Dad for-sure misses you <3 i enjoyed every moment together. As a Sears associate, I've known Ruth many years, but really got to know her during the years in our retiree group. She will surely be missed, and I pray for peace and comfort for her family during this very special time. God bless each of you.
