Her Life

Living with her helping her for 7 years while fighting COPD / Emphysema

May 19, 2012

Living the last 7 or 8 years taking care of my mom along with my life partner Shaun has been one of the most proudest things in my life that I have ever done.  Although it was very hard watching my mom get worse and worse each and ever year, it was so great to be with her every single day while she was here with us.  Our 3 Jack Russell Terriers, Milo, Molly, and Precious loved her to death and made her days just so much more better.

Just the days when I would laugh and joke with my mom, watch TV shows with her, show her how to use the internet, and all the fun times we had making food and coocking for eachother is something that will be missed.

I am honored and blessed that she ended up on our doorstep in the time of need for us to do our part and make each day as comfortable and fun and relaxing for her as possible.

Not all days were good, but looking back I wouldn't trade any of them in if I had to.  My mom was always proud about the good work I did as a DJ, and when I got a full time job working for the Marriott call center she wuld clap her hands, scream YAY at the top of her lungs and applaud me for working hard and making a sale each night.  She told me I was going to to very well at the company and I know she is always looking down on me just as proud as can be.

My mom was our best friend.  She always tried her best to do things for us to make us happy.  Make good food, get us glasses of cokes, making cookies and deserts for both us and the puppies, and working as hard as she could to help our days go by with just a little bit more ease and always lots of jokes and fun.

My mom was one of the most caring and inspirational person I will ever know.  Her smile was so bright and radient and always made everyone feel welcome and right at home.
