To our Friends at HaleNani and Bristol Hospice:
Our family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful care our father received during his long stay at HaleNani Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. We are deeply saddened by his passing but comforted in knowing that he received lots of love and care by the positive and upbeat staff. The sensitivity and support we received helped us during what is a very difficult time and we will never forget your kindness.

I pray that you are at peace now and maybe enjoying a beer or two up in heaven with my dad and the other "Hawaii-Okinawa" boys at the Heavenly Bar.
Joy, Lisa and Mrs. Gibo - All of you took really good care of your dad & husband for so many years - gokurosama. Although he may be physically gone now, please remember that he will continue to live on in your hearts. I pray you find comfort and peace in the memories you all shared as a family. We were so saddened to hear of Uncle Sei's passing, but feel he is now in a better place and resting peacefully. I'll always remember Uncle Sei's cheerful and happy disposition, always smiling and brightening up our gatherings. I'm sure he is looking down at us along with Gichan, Baban, Uncle Juni and Uncle Donald,.. and watching over us. You are all in our thoughts, hearts and prayers.
Love,
Sandy

Seiyei Gibo's Legacy
Peace, fairness, compassion, protector, love
We are so sad to hear of your father's passing. We extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family at this difficult time. If we can be of help in anyway, please don't hesitate to call on us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I remember Mr. Gibo as being extremely kind and giving. I don't think he realized how he had had touched my life. I never had a long conversation with Mtr. Gibo, but I remember calling him one day because I lost contact with Lisa. We talked as if we had known each other for years. I remember being invited to Okuma for Lisa's graduation, and Mr. Gibo had set up all the activities for everyone to enjoy. I felt so privileged to have been able to experience that. Another time I remember being the recipient of Mr. Gibo's kindness was when I moved from Okinawa to Hawaii to go to college. Mr. Gibo had set up the condominium that Lisa, Kaying and I would move in to. The warmth of his effort made it such a nice condominium to live in while going to college. All thetse gentle and kind gestures may have been just a part of his nature, but it had an everlasting impact on me. I think of him fondly and always will.
In sympathy,
