This page was made in memory of Seth Daniel Evins. Here you can view pictures, leave a tribute, share a story or memory you have with him. We will forever remember him.

Seth's memorial service was held on August, 14th at 1:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church. 1326 E Cedar St, Seguin, TX 78155

Many have asked if there is anything they can do to help at this time. Right now, our greatest need is to gather resources to help cover the unexpected costs and provide support for his wife as she adjusts to not having an earthly provider and finds her feet steady again. If you would like more info on how to help show your support to his wife, please email joytoyouministries@gmail.com

When someone is a part of one’s heart it doesn’t matter how far away that special person may go; Seth became one with our hearts, and most importantly, our spirits.

God blesses us in an untold number of ways, but one of our favorites is when one of His children makes an indelible mark on our lives. The Lord worked circumstances in such a unique fashion that gave us the privilege of knowing Seth. We’ve never met anyone as humble, as spiritually gifted and as dedicated to our Lord with the deepest of passions to get the lost saved. We had only a short time, on this planet, with Seth but a lifetime of having him forever in our hearts.

It broke my heart the day I heard of your passing, and tears stream down today too. Seth, the light and joy you exuded was so powerful. It reached across social media and into my heart. You made me laugh on days I felt like crying. Your Snapchat videos lifted my heart. Thank you for sharing your light and love with me and so many. You are very missed. Soar like the angel you are.
I will see you in heaven my friend. So much love from your sister in Christ!

To a mighty young man of God. The coffee pot has too much coffee in it, and I'm going to gain weight without you coming in grabbing sweets. My hubby raises a cup to you.

His Life

Approaching the one year mark.

July 20, 2022
It has been a difficult journey, walking this life without Seth here. We truly miss him more than words could ever express.
We have had many moments of reflecting on his life. What a blessing he truly was to our family. Our hope is to share some thoughts and stories as we go along. We hope you will join in sharing stories you think we would like to hear.

Our Sweet Seth

Too much coffee

July 21, 2022
There sat the coffee pot, it had too much coffee in it. The man that got up every Saturday morning had learned how to make enough coffee for two and some habits are hard to break. At first you glanced over at that pot and your first thought was “Seth hasn’t come to get his coffee yet.” Your very next thought is, “he’s not coming, he’s having coffee with Jesus.” I know this for a fact because Seth loved to chat over coffee. I can hear that Texas twang in his voice when, after he walked through my front door, filled his cup, and then answered the same question I asked every Saturday, “What’s up?” And then his answer, “Not a whole lot.”  Now you have to go back and re-read that part and listen in your head, in your heart, for that twang. Did you hear it? I can. We’d chat, not about much, just little things. He’d stand there and sip that coffee, sometimes he’d refill it before he left because well, why not?, there was enough in the pot, just enough for the two of them, the man that made it, and the man that came over to partake in a hot cup. I don’t know that the man that makes the coffee has quite mastered making coffee for one. Too often I walk into the kitchen way past coffee drinking time and there sits the pot, coffee long cooled still there in the bottom. Perhaps for the man that makes the coffee, for the one who pours his two cups and leaves the rest, perhaps he’s not quite ready to make coffee for one. I’m sure, even though he doesn’t express himself out loud like some of us, he’s not quite ready to make less coffee. As for me, I will one day walk through heaven’s gates and say Seth, “What’s up?”

Seth Evins

I haven’t known Seth very long, just a few years. He was one of the first people I got to know after our two churches combined to become One Hope Church. He came regularly to our adult Bible study on Sunday mornings, and he listened intently and always had something to add to the discussion. It became very evident to me that he had a loving relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ! And also that he wanted to tell everyone about the joy he felt in Jesus. He wanted everyone to share that joy!

In our class he told us about talking with people at work and other places about his Lord. Seth was definitely a “people person.” He loved all people and wanted them to share the joy he felt in knowing Christ. He knew that we are commanded in scripture that we should “go and tell it on the mountain,” that we should tell others about Christ and what He did for us on the cross, but I believe he told people about Jesus, not because we are commanded to, but because of his love for people.

Seth not only loved his adult Christian brothers and sisters, but he loved the children! He and Rachael volunteered for Children’s Church with the toddlers and babies. He loved spending time with them and he wanted to make sure that the little ones learned about God, even at such a young age. He knew that they are never too young to know God’s love.

Seth enjoyed being an uncle, and he was a good one. Jeremiah could tell you what a good uncle looks like, and I could see that Seth loved spending time with Jeremiah. I’m sure that is true about Jameson and Eliza also.

A few days ago I had the privilege of meeting Seth’s family. I knew Rachael, but had never met his Nicole & Travis, grandparents Fred & Jeanie, or siblings Ian, Alli, and D’Lani, and of course Jameson and Eliza. I went to his parent’s house, and they invited me in and made me feel like one of the family. They were looking through boxes and albums of pictures, trying to select just a few to be used in Seth’s memorial, and they allowed me to be there as if I were part of the family. I felt so privileged to be there, and I felt like part of the family. I guess that’s how it is in God’s family. We are all connected by that bond of love.

I cannot imagine the feeling of loss that Rachael, and Nicole & Travis, and Stephanie & Paul, and all the family are feeling. But our comfort is in knowing that Seth is with his Savior, even now. If Seth could speak to us now I think he would say “if you are here today and don’t have that security of knowing you belong to Christ, then consider Jesus!”

Love describes Seth. We cannot think of anyone we know who represented Jesus more than Seth. A passion to know God and His word, he had a depth of spiritual insight that seemed to surpass his young years. He connected God’s Word to daily life with a fearless confidence knowing God has a perfect plan and it includes His children! And now he’s in His presence;we can only imagine how glorious it must be seeing our God face to face. While our time together here has been  short, Sam and I have been abundantly blessed knowing Seth.  A faithful witness and one from whom we learned much; we love him, will miss him intensely and  until we see him again, he will remain etched in our hearts. 2 Timothy 4:7
