Sharin was preceded in death by her husband Robert Matros, her daughter Linda, and brother Perry Lee. She is survived by her Uncle Dwight, who was only seven years her senior and was considered by Sharin Lin more of a brother.
Sharin Lin was born to Juanita and Floyd Shonkwiler on May 2, 1942. Her parents brought both Sharin Lin and Perry Lee to live with their Grandparents, Leonard and Rosa Cotton, during World War II. Her father was in the Navy and her parents moved to California until the war was over at which time they moved back to Portsmouth, Ohio.
After high school Sharin Joined the U.S. Army and while in the service of her country met and married Robert (Bob) Matros. Sharin had one daughter, her joy and love, Linda.
Bob and Sharin, moved to the Big Island of Hawaii after Sharin retired and enjoyed many years together. Linda joined them on the Islands when she moved to Maui and then to the Big Island.
Sharin died after a long struggle with lung and heart disease and is now with her beloved family.
