Her Life

Growing up

September 6, 2021
Mom was a true country girl that worked hard to not just be a wife. She graduated highs school was the first female bus driver. She then got married to Luby Rouse and started a family. Don’t remember too much cuz he was killed when I was 6 years old. Then she was left to groom and grow her family. She worked and she definitely enjoyed her weekends. End of the day she made sure we all was take care of. Young black woman during that time had particular jobs they could work and not given the opportunity to do various jobs.  Which lead my Mom to Surviving the best way she know how. There was a lot of bumps and depression. Didn’t know what that was back then but know I know why she would spend days in bed. She was loss and no one was there to help her. She eventually found herself by the help of faith. Looking to GOD for those unanswered questions and finding a answer. I would have to say it was when we I needed it most. The positive talks words of encouragement reminding me the battle is not mine. Let go and let GOD. She loved helping people and would give her last to make sure they could continue pushing forward. I know my Mama found her way and was at peace with herself. I pray I found the same peace she had and learn to forgive and forget. I have to say she wouldn forget somethings but she forgive. I will always take the will she instilled in me and pass her on to my kids and family friends.
