This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Solomon Tadfor, 54, born on December 29, 1959 and passed away on March 20, 2014. We will remember him forever.

March 20
In the early hours of 20 March 2014,
Death snatched you from us, a moment so keen.
Today marks a decade, ten years have flown by,
Yet the pain of your absence still makes me cry.

My wish was to spoil you silly, dear dad,
For all the sacrifices, the love you had.
But fate had its plans, and you had to leave,
A loss so profound, hard to conceive.

The pain of your passing, it cut so deep,
But in God's love, I find solace and keep.
Your guidance, your peace, your endless love,

Though you're not here to share life's joys and tears,
Your spirit lives on, calming all fears.
Rest in peace, my dearest daddy
Your memory and love, I forever embrace.

I did make cake and chin chin.
... no one eat them.
I started cooking ponne.
... no one to turn it.
I bought matango.
... no one to drink it.
I Played 'Soul Makossa'
... no one to dance to it.
I shared 'Mesang Nkefeh'

People die, yet the legacies they leave behind loom for ages! As a small boy in form two (1976), I could still vividly remember the match between Sasse and GBHS Molyko for the then OSUCS competition in Buea. Late Ambrose Ojimba (may his soul rest in peace), the then sports master, never hid his zeal to win a game, even if it meant using every unconventional physical means,

Tadfor was at Ojimba's beck and call, when the push came to shove. Tadfor Solo was a defensive player who could inflict very technical injuries on the opposing team's attackers. And when it comes to employing that strategy, those of us who were supporters of the Sasse eleven, will never forget one of those notorious Ojimba yells from the sidelines viz; "Tadforrrrr....clutcccch!!!". For those who may not remember this and what it meant, it was simply a mischievous call from the coach on Tadfor to employ those unconventional technical skills, to stop any menacing attacker from the other team. In effect, it was a call to send anyone off the pitch on a stretcher!. And you bet, Tadfor will do exactly that without attracting any cards!

This loss is so sad indeed, but God knows best why it had to happen at this time. My sincere condolences to the Tadfor family.May our good St Joseph be there to guide you into this final journey you have embarked. Adieu Solo...

I remember Solomon. He was a gentleman and an excellent soccer player and a VA boy too. If I am not mistaken he used to live with the Mullin brothers. May his soul rest in perfect peace. I wonder where the Mullin brothers are? Anyone have an idea? God bless Solomon & their wonderful family and greetings from my family. Thanks, Eric Eyong

I remember my secondary school principal, Mr. Abel N. Sumbele often said, 'educated people are humbled,' Solo was one of the most humbled person I knew.
When we were going up in Buea, Solo was our dad, granddad, big brother, and the disciplinarian, a job quite hefty for anyone at any age, let alone as a teenager. He took each of those reponsibilities seriously.
When Solo was in Sasse and the university, he went to the farm regularly, carry huge loads from the farm to the market or to the house. I remember my friends reactions 'I no fit believe sey your broda dey Sasse/university e di carry cassava/coco/planti/etc for e head ...' He did it with love.
I remeber Solo Forbiden Judith and I from going to night clubs back in the days (lol) not hang out with certain friends, and a bunch of other 'DO NOTS' I still remeber how I felt each time of these restrictions was levied on me, but as I grew up I realized, it was part of his job as dad, granddad, big brother and disciplinarian. I look back at our lives, and I cherish those times.
He was a wonderful dad to his four kids, Picho, Lilly, Daddy, and Theo.
He was a my father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend. He's left a big hole in my heart, I will use the loving memories he created to fill that hole slowly.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
From an Irish headstone”

Will Miss You Solo
