Sgt. Robert B. “Brian” Cowdrey, 39, of Sanford, NC and formerly of La Junta, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011 in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. He was born on May 26, 1972 in La Junta, Colorado to Charles Tilden & Donna (Faull) Cowdrey. He married Kimberly Jill Bollacker. 

Brian was an avid hunter when his job in the Army would allow. He loved his job, he always would say “the job is hard but I am proud to be the one who sends the deceased on their first leg on their journey home.” One great passion of his life was being a foster family for German Shepherds. He also could not turn down a good game of Call of Duty with his Xbox 360. He was an amazing man who loved his family; he loved the Lord and loved the ARMY!

photographer , Brenna Linsley in Feb , 2010, regarding campaigns in
Afghanistan. Brian was vocalist, artist,played all sports,played
leading roles in high school theater, on debate team, National Honor
Society, Debate Team, Cheerleader, avid hunter with bow/rifle.
