IN MEMORY OF STACEY JO GREENWAY

A HEART OF GOLD STOPPED BEATING
TWO SHINING GREEN EYES AT REST
GOD BROKE OUR HEARTS TO PROVE
 HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST
NO TIME TO SAY GOOD BYE
YOU WERE GONE BEFORE WE KNEW IT
AND ONLY GOD KNOWS WHY
GOD KNOWS YOU HAD TO LEAVE US
BUT YOU DID NOT GO ALONE
FOR PART OF US WENT WITH YOU'
THE DAY HE TOOK YOU HOME
OUR HEARTS STILL ACHES IN SADNESS
AND SECRET TEARS STILL FLOW
WHAT IT MEANT TO LOSE YOU
NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW
TO SOME YOU ARE FORGOTTEN
TO OTHERS JUST PART OF THE PAST
BUT TO THOSE OF US WHO LOVED AND LOST YOU
THE MEMORY WILL ALWAYS LAST.

December 10, 2013

Stacey was 18 yrs old, and had just graduated from High School. She was in the

top 5 in her class, and was very athletic playing softball and basketball. She won numerous awards all through her junior and high school years.

She had already registered for college and was due to start in the fall.

She was going that next week with a friend's mother, who was a Physical Therapist to work. Stacey either wanted to be a Physical Therapist or Xray Technition. She wanted to be fully decided so she would not waste a minute in school.

The following week she was to go with her Aunt Teresa and Uncle Bow to

Cheyenne, Wyoming for their week long Rodeo. She was doing this as her senior trip. So we could keep her safe and it was fine with her as she loved her Aunt Teresa and Rodeo's.

Stacey was also working that summer at a sewing factory. And at an

Italian Restaurant in the small town we live in. She also was calling T Ball and younger league softball and baseball games.

The last day Stacey was alive we had all spent the day at the Tennessee River

with friends. She had water skied with her younger brother Rocky and one of her best friends Jessica. They had rode in the boat and on their jetski and had a wonderful day. When we came back from the River we all got ready to go to the fire works back at the river. She left the house about 6pm to pick up the love of her life Shannon. They were headed out when the accident happened and her truck hit the bridge head on. Someone came by and saw the damaged bridge and contacted the law and they finally found the Truck under the bridge. They had been there 45 mins. or longer when they were found Shannon. His leg had been broken, and he did not make it past the back of the truck. He had to wait there till someone found them. We came upon the wreck but did not know it was our only daughter Stacey until we had sat in line of traffic for more than an hour. Stacey was not only my only daughter but also my best friend as we were as close as sisters. She left an older Brother Wesley and sister in law Misty, a younger brother Rocky and had an older brother Josh that preceded her in d
eath. He died when he was 10 days old.

There were at least a thousand people who signed the guest register at the

funeral home. And several younger friends we know who never signed. Her funeral procession was the longest the funeral taker said he had ever led in the 30 yrs he had been in that business. Stacey touched many lives during her short stay here. She was Miss SHHS and won many other honors. And is truly missed by many.
