On the morning of January 1, 2015, Stephen Peter Daniuk died, unexpectedly of natural causes at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH. 

He was born in Grossenbach, Germany, on January 12, 1944, and came to the United States with his mother when he was a young boy. He grew up in Dorchester, MA where he attended school, learned to speak English, and worked to become an engineer. During his career he worked all over the United States, retiring from Jacobs Engineering. He loved being near the water and settled in the town of Cape Neddick, Maine where he lived for many years. He had recently moved to the town of Stratham, NH.

He loved the outdoors and his many passions included skiing Tuckerman’s Ravine, sailing, and home construction projects. There was nothing he couldn’t build and he had a gift for visualizing a project, putting it to paper, and seeing it through to completion with meticulous detail, including designing and building both his home in Cape Neddick, Maine and that of his daughter, Shannon’s home in Antrim, NH. He was always there to help friends and family with household projects.

He had many fun hobbies from sports cars to RC airplanes and model trains he would set up in his back yard. He was truly a big kid at heart and everyone who knew him will remember his great sense of humor and love of life. Christmas was his favorite holiday when he could gather with family and friends to celebrate. He loved the challenge of finding the biggest Christmas tree he could fit into his home.

Stephen was preceded in death by his step-father, Wasyl Doz and his father-in-law, Gerald Vasil.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Julia Doz, Dorchester, MA, his first wife, Alexis Daniuk, Manchester, NH, second wife, Terry, Stratham, NH, two daughters from his first marriage, Shannon Rondeau and her husband Michael, Antrim, NH, Christen Larocca and her husband Steven, Hampstead, NH, step-son David Foster and his partner Nia Lewis, Roslindale, MA, step-daughter, Vicky Prestage, Quincy, MA, grandchildren, Jeremy Daniuk, Chicago, IL, Caitlin Rollo and her husband, Michael, Rollinsford, NH, Brigita Rachko, Jamaica Plain, MA, great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rollo, Rollinsford, NH, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews in both the United States and Poland.

The family will hold a private memorial service at the Puritan Back Room, Manchester, NH.
