One of my favorite memories of Steve was on a Campus Life ski trip to Utah in the early 80's. I was just "catching on" to the sport of skiing, not entirely sure I liked having little skinny sticks on my feet and pointing them down hills. Well...Steve was my encourager, skied with me, showed me how fun it could be AND convinced me to ski the trees. We had a blast! Such a sweet guy!

Candle for Steve, I remember so many fun times with Steve. He helped us start our home at the lake by working with his uncle Sonny clearing the woods one summer. He was the best worker but of course he was prompted by free skiing on the lake when he worked for a while. It was always a joy to have him and he was so much fun! One night the girls caught fireflies and put them in a jar. Steve always s

Steve was the sweetest nephew in any one could ever wish for. He was so loving and kind and he sure was a big help to us at the lake when we first moved here by helping his uncle Sonny clear the woods. I am so glad he knew Jesus and they are living it up and so free of all cares!

Watching the slide show brought back so many 'good' memories. I remember all those pictures!. Steven has a special place in my heart and always will. My prayers go out to all my cousins - he will be missed.

Steven gave his heart to Jesus many years ago. When he was a young teen he was baptized in the mighty Pacific ocean. We will miss him, but we know that he is right now sitting at the feet of Jesus, and some day we will be right there with him.

Steve and I were best buds growing up. We spend most of our summers together. It was surely a parental plot to cut down on kid sitting costs. Steve was always the cool cat. He was a truly loyal cousin and friend. In all those years, I can't recall one instance when he lost his cool. God rest his soul.

...continued cool cat story: When we were on family vacation in Mexico, a kid threw a rock at us and hit Steve on the head. I think that's how he got that left eyebrow scar. After all was said and done and his stitches were in, I was pissed. I wanted revenge. Steve was just like, "whatever man" and let it go.

Memory: When Steve was maybe 5 or 6 we took a drive in the hills above LA. We passed a small lake, and I said it was a reservoir. "What's a reservwater?" So I explained how the water runs down through big pipes to the city, then through smaller and smaller pipes to our sinks. Steve thought about the reservwater for a few seconds and asked, "Is that the cold or the hot?"

My memories of my cousin Steve are all from childhood and in our teens. He always showed me love and was a very sweet older cousin who wrote me long letters, sent me drawings, and showed me he cared even from miles and miles away.  It breaks my heart to know he is gone, but I have hope of a day we can see each other again in heaven. Love you cuz!

"When Steve was little, many times he would pout at the table.  His dad would tell him if he was going to pout he'd have to sit under the table. So he'd sit under there for awhile and then come back to the table and eat his supper. Steve went to elementary school at the Lutheran Church in Westchester, CA.  One of his teachers told us she had to pull his desk tight up against hers to keep him in his seat"
