His Life

Steward Calvin Johnson was born of June 10, 1940, to Mrs. Izora Slaton and Mr. Willie C. Slaton.  He attended school in Meriwether County.

He accepted Christ as his personal savior and join the Concord CME Church in Woodbury, Ga.  And was added to the Board of Steward in 1975.  Calvin served as Chairman for thirty (30) plus years.  He was a faithful and active member until his health failed.

Calvin was a construction worker for a number of years.  He worked with S&M Construction for 20 years. 

On Tuesday morning, April 10, 2012, God called Steward Calvin Johnson from labor to reward.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 52 years, Mrs. Annie Grace Mahone Johnson; Five boys, one son who preceded him in death, Kelvin Johnson, Korca (Linda) Johnson of Cleveland, Ohio, Kenneth Johnson, Karl Johnson all of Woodbury, Ga; Two children that he raised as his own: Jackie Lee Clark and Linda Fay Clark of Lagrange, Ga.; Daughter-in-Law, Shirley Johnson; twenty-one (21) grandchildren, two (2) preceded him in death, Charmaine Johnson and Frank Alford; Fifteen (15) great grandchildren; Brother, Dea. Willie Morris (Doris) Slaton; One sister preceded him in death, Ms. Dannie Mae Slaton; Brother and Sister-in-Laws, Eva (Tony) Stevenson, Betty (Leroy) Richardson, Adolph (Brenda) Mahone, Annette Mahone, Carolyn Mahone, Julian Mahone, Eddie L. Mahone, W. D. Hardnett, Albert Campbell; Two special friends, Linda Boyd and Daisy Bussey; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will always and forever hold his memories in their hearts.
