Golden Years
After Roy's death in December of 2005, Sue spent all of her time with her two new, adopted children: her toy Pomeranians, Pepper and Ginger. She also enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren as they filled her house with laughter and love, swam in her pool, and were spoiled with her attention. There were always family dinners and hilarity over the funny birthday cakes created in her kitchen. Sunday breakfasts were her favorite; the table was always filled with jams, jellies, and preserves she made during the summer months to go over the warm biscuits.
Soon after her 84th birthday, she was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. But anyone who knew her, also knew how stubborn she could be. And she didn't let her cancer affect her until the very end. She was still asking what she could cook us for dinner, even though she had finally been confined to her bed. She was a stong, loving, and devoted mother and grandmother to her family her entire life.
We miss you and love you!
