Her Life
October 7, 2014

Mrs. Henry was born on June 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Winnie Davis Stephens and Joe Darrell Stephens, Sr. All throughout her life she remained a supporter of her family’s church Wesley Chapel but also enjoyed attending the Franklin United Methodist and took special delight when accompanied by one of her son’s and their family. Mrs. Henry was a loved member of the community. She held a very special place in her heart for her only sibling, Joe Stephens, and joined with him in several business ventures in their home town of Franklin. Joe and Ann’s Clothing offered a place for locals to buy the latest styles. It was their restaurant however that endeared her to the local young people. Joe and Ann’s BBQ became the favorite stop after school for all the teenagers. Even though the food was wonderful it was “Miss Ann’s” dry wit, good sound advice, and winning smile that kept the children coming every afternoon. She especially enjoyed this venture because she was allowed the opportunity to be with her children as well as their friends. Not only was she a business women but the care giver of both her parents in their declining years. This was a job that she did with the greatest of affection. After both their deaths she felt the need to continue her work with other shut-ins. All those with whom she ministered to were greatly blessed. Her greatest joy in life however, was that of being the mother to her three beloved sons, and grandmother to her grandchildren, each of them a credit to her wonderful guidance, strong support, and tremendous love. The fruits of her labor have provided the people of Heard County with fine men who protect its citizens, provide good health management, and give our children a safe environment in which they can thrive. She will long be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by three sons, Stanley Hannah (Scheena) of Centralhatchee, GA., Ross Henry, and John Henry (Cindy) all of Franklin, GA.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Joe Stephens.
