Sylvia Buchanan Myers, 70, a longtime resident of Stem passed away Monday, August 29th at the home of her daughter.
A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Theodore Vernon and Ethelene Hobbs Buchanan. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from Duke Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 1st in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Johnny Hewett. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are her husband of thirty–six years, Allen Myers of the home, five daughters, Joyce W. Crabtree of Littleton, Karen W. Bivins of Timberlake, Robin W. Stiles of Alabama, Pamela W. Funderburk of Durham, Loretta Myers of Creedmoor, four sons, Jimmy Whitfield of Roxboro, Michael Myers of Creedmoor, Walter Dunn of Creedmoor, Wayne Myers of Stem., three sisters, Judy Bailey of Timberlake Joyce Moses of South Boston, Va. Sharon Barnes of Roxboro, a brother, Jimmy Buchanan of Timberlake ,27 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Buchanan and a daughter, Rebecca W. Couch.
Visitation 7:00-8:30 PM Wednesday evening, September 1st 2011 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at 201 Lamberth St. Apt. 1, Roxboro, NC 27573
