Tammy Elizabeth Newcomb Briggs, 57, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
She was born February 25, 1962 in Granville County to the late Robert “Bob” Newcomb and late Mary Elizabeth Goss Newcomb. She was of the Baptist faith, worked at Touch of Class and Merle Norman Cosmetics in Henderson for many years and was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 19, 2019 at Newcomb Family Cemetery located at 3103 Stonewalls Way Oxford, NC 27565, by Rev. Eddie Mauldin.
Surviving are a daughter, Brittney Elizabeth Briggs of Oxford, two sons, Dexter Ryan Williams, Brent Lane Briggs, both of Oxford; a sister, Kathy Newcomb- Clark of Oxford, three brothers, Ricky Lane Newcomb (Connie), Charlie Bryan Newcomb, Robert “Wayne” Newcomb (Lisa) all of Oxford; two grandchildren, Bailey Elizabeth Workman and Tristan Allen Workman. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Prudence Goss, Wiley and Mary Newcomb and her sister, Helen N. Watkins.
Visitation will follow the graveside service and at other times at the home of Ricky and Connie Newcomb, 3056 East Shady Grove Rd., Oxford, NC 27565.
