Ted's life

Theodore "Ted" Bamberger passed away on October 27th while doing a daily activity he loved - swimming at the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco.

Ted was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 29, 1928. After his formative and high school years in Ohio, Ted went to Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and was a distinguished graduate of the class of 1950.

Following graduation and until 1965, Ted worked for Bamberger / Reinthal knitwear in Cleveland. As General Manager/VP, he was responsible for the personal knit hat division that included every aspect from design, production, shipping and sales. He then worked for Reliable of Milwaukee as a West Coast sales reprentative until 1975.

In 1976, Ted founded Extex Corporation which focused on the export of US-made sport fishing equipment including lures, reels and apparel. 

Ted is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet, four children, Karen, Jill, Brent and Sarah and six grandchildren.
