Terry Van Northcutt Obituary

July 4, 2014

Terry Van Northcutt, 56, of Point, passed away Thursday morning at his residence. Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Smyrna Union Church in Emory with Bro. Montie Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening, 6-8 PM, at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory.

Terry was born on July 6, 1957, in Dallas, to Oren Van and Betty Joyce Ballard Northcutt. He worked many years as a machinist for his father, Oren, at Dal-Air Castings in Point. First, he managed the Houston plant, then moved back to North Texas to work at the Point foundry. Due to health issues, Terry was unable to work in the last few years of his life, and lived with his mother, Betty.

Terry so loved his dogs Luke, Molly and his beloved Sophie, and could be seen walking them down the street on a regular basis. Terry was an avid remote control airplane enthusiast and also enjoyed working on cars, and of course keeping the riding lawn mower running, which was a daily job. Terry was a sports fan. He followed the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, and he enjoyed going to and watching Nascar races as well.
