Her Life

Grandma

October 29, 2015

Mom wrote this when Grandma passed. We found it today among her writings, and Id like to share it with everyone.

It's Alright
by Theresa Eshelman

Don't be afraid to cry. It's Alright. Right now tears will come freely- and they should. Soon the tears will dry up, but you will still be sad. Many times in your life, something will trigger the tears. Some of your memories will be happy ones- some will be sad. Soon you will keep the happy ones- those that make you smile. And the tears will come again with the pain of losing the one you love.

Don't be afraid to be mad at God. It's Alright. He will understand. When sadness overwhelmes you- run to Him and pour out your heart. He is there to console you. Remember that He too watched someone He loved die. But He also knew that Jesus died for us.

Don't be afraid to question why? It's Alright. We don't know the answers right now, but we can still scream at God "WHY?" He knows our pain. Remember Mary at the foot of the Cross- She, too, asked "Why?" because she didn't know it was all part of God's wonderful plan; just as we don't know the reason why right now.

Don't try to be strong for family members. It's Alright to be a little girl. People grieve differently at different times. Cry if you have to, even at school. Confide in a favorite teacher or friend. They understand and will help you dry your tears. But above all, know that you are loved.

You will find yourself laughing at something you mother said or singing her favorite song. It's Alright.
