Thomas Earl Humphries, 71, a lifetime resident of Granville County, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at his home. He was the son of the late Earl Coleman Humphries and Ruby Westmoreland. He was a member of Community Baptist Church in Franklinton and was part owner and operator of 1st Class Trucking.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. William “Bill” Ausley. Burial will be held in Meadowview Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are two daughters, Amy Humphries Blackburn (Paul) of Oxford, Karen Humphries Reich of Oxford, two sons, Randy Humphries (Tracey) of Oxford and Michael Humphries (Taylor) of Timberlake, two sisters, Ruby Jewel Ausley of Zebulon, Lelia Ann Jordan of Beaver Dam, Va., two brothers, James Humphries of Stem and Robert Humphries of Myrtle Beach, SC , eight granddaughters, two grandsons and a great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald S. Humphries and a son, Bradley Wayne Humphries.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, May 30, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home.
