MITZELFELD THOMAS H., age 89, of Beverly Hills, died peacefully in Ann Arbor on Labor Day after a 10-year battle with dementia. Preceded in death by Audrey, his dear wife of 63 years. Survived by sons Charles (Donna), of Ann Arbor; William (Susan) of Boulder, CO; James (Lisa), of Falls Church, VA; grandchildren, Heidi and Peter of Colo.; Paris and Benjamin of VA; brother William of Rochester; preceded in death by brothers Louis and Marvin "Jack." A 1942 graduate of Mackenzie High School in Detroit, Tom was a Football-Track scholar-athlete at MSU, a World War II Veteran, and an innovative auto engineer for GM. At the conclusion of the funeral service and reception at St. James Episcopal Church, family members of Thomas H. Mitzelfeld are cordially invited to join his sons Charles, Willliam and James and their families at the home of Monty and Marla, who have graciously offered to host a party celebrating Tom's life. A funeral for Thomas H. Mitzelfeld will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday October 20, 2013 at the St. James Episcopal Church,  355 W. Maple, in Birmingham, Michigan. The church is located at the southeast corner of Maple and Chester Streets, one block east of Southfield.
