Her Life

A new Journey

October 5, 2010

In the summer of 2010 Tina broke her leg falling down some stairs. She had previously had problems and past surgeries on the foot on the same leg. Complications with the metal plate placed in her leg caused infections and more problems for her. She had another surgery to remove the plate and was receiving IV antibiotics which she went to the hospital daily for. October 3rd, 2010 found her once again at the hospital for her treatment. After telling the doctor about some problems breathing and some other concerns they began different tests. Sadly as they were bringing her back after an ultra sound Tina passed onto a new life.  She was on Earth just a few short years, and was taken from her family and friends much to early. She will be missed greatly by her two children, her husband, parents, family and friends. But we can take solace knowing that she is no longer suffering and in no more pain.

Thank you to her Mother Evelyn for providing me with the information needed to write Tina's story!  ~Stephanie Bedard

Childhood

October 5, 2010

Tina’s father was a farmhand and her family moved around quite a bit. Tina started kindergarten in Sabetha, Kansas and ended the year in Thurman, Iowa. When she was in the third grade her parents moved to Brock, Nebraska and she attended Johnson-Brock, Nebraska schools and moved back and forth between Johnson-Brock and Thurman, Iowa schools.
For four years she lived in a park between Johnson and Brock, Nebraska with her parents. She got very proficient at operating a floor buffer without wrapping the cord around her legs like her mother did. We didn’t let her drive the tractor and mower because she put a few dents in the 1965 Impala that she drove.
When her parents separated, her mother moved them to Washington State and Tina graduated from Lake Stevens High School. She was very active in the music program, both band and choir. Tina then attended Edmunds Community College wanting to be a music teacher, then switched and went to ITT for data processing.
