She was born June 3, 1932 in the town of Ravenna, Ohio to the late Edward M. Proctor Sr. and Helen Milton Proctor.   She attended Ravenna High School and worked various jobs in the Ravenna area.

Mrs. Carson later married George Carson Jr. July 5, 1952 and moved to Warren, Ohio where they raised their five children. “Tinkey” as she was lovingly called by her family and friends was deeply loved and cherished. She had a unique way of making everyone feel so special. She made everyone feel as though they were family.Mother Carson was a member of Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ where she served as the church mother under the leadership of Bishop  David L. Herron Sr. Mother Carson prayed for everyone faithfully down through the years. Mother Carson served on the nurse’s aide committee, cleaning committee and communion committee. Whatever she could find for her hands to do in the or for the church, she did it. Her undying love and commitment to the church was ongoing. She is survived by her husband and five children: Janie (Michael) Karen (Clarence) George III (Sylvia) all of Warren. Ricky (Yolanda) Ray Charles (Marylin) of Dallas, TX, 4 sisters, Dorothy, Helen, Catherine and Doris and two brothers Edward and Donald of Atlanta, 17 grand children  13 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. She is greatly missed by all those who love and adored her.
