Torrean Lynnae Rich

February 17, 2012

Torrean Lynnae Rich was born on August 5, 1983 in Washington, DC to Shelley L. and Vincent D. Rich Sr.  On February 9, 2012 God called his precious angel home to be with Him.  Torrean attended Stevens Elementary School in Washington DC and also attended schools within the Prince Georges County Public School System - Carmody Hills Elementary School, Thurgood Marshall Middle School and she graduated from Largo Senior High School in 2001.  Torrean continued her education and obtained her B.A. degree in Human Services from The George Washington University in 2005.  She enjoyed participating in sports throughout her childhood. She was a member of the softball and cheerleading teams at Forestville B & G Club and Largo Sr. High School.  Torrean was an avid cheerleader. Once she graduated from High School, she decided to give back to her community as a cheerleading coach with the Forestville B & G Club and The Maryland Cheer Explosion All-Star Organization, where she led her teams to many victories by providing them with her guidance, skill and expertise.

Torrean was previously employed at the Department of Justice, The George Washington University and General Services Administration Agency (GSA).  She was currently employed by the Court Services of Supervision Agency (CSOSA) as a Community Supervision Officer. She began her tenure with the Agency in September 2006.  She was assigned to Branch V, Team 55 (Interstate Out Team) where she always gave 100% of herself.  Torrean was also co-owner of Haute-Haven Boutique where she expressed her love for fashion.  She was baptized at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Washington DC and was a member of Spirit of Faith Christian Center where she shared her love of God.

Torrean embraced and lived her life to the fullest with a great deal of passion and conviction.  She was one of the most giving, loving and caring individuals on God’s earth.  Torrean took care of her family and friends as if they were all one in the same.  One of the first things you would see was her big beautiful smile and it would forever be etched in your mind.  As a small child she would travel to New Jersey to spend time with her family.  Torrean loved traveling, shopping for herself and her business, dancing on the Wii and singing her favorite song “Sweet Thang” at karaoke.  She also enjoyed the sport of cheerleading, dancing and the company of her friends and family.  Her quick wit and lovable personality resonated and filled the room as soon as she entered.

Torrean was a true Stylista. Her friends would take pictures of their outfits and seek her approval and no doubt she would incorporate her touch by advising them to remove the vest or change those accessories.  Torrean was known for fixing things that were out of place, it could be your hair or something on your outfit, it didn’t matter she would make it right.  She was also the friend that you could call with good or bad news and ask her opinion on all sorts of matters. She would give advice and although it may not be what you wanted to hear, you knew it was from the heart.

She has always been very independent and never wanted anyone to worry about her even though she always cared for others.  Torrean was very dedicated to her family.  She is the great-granddaughter of the late Minnie Williams; and granddaughter of the late George Daniels Sr. and Della M. Daniels.  Her memories will be cherished by her parents Shelley L. and Vincent D. Rich Sr. of Forestville, MD; her loving brothers Vincent D. Rich Jr. (Rocco) and Michael L. Rich; her great-grandmother Louise Mills; grandparents Margie Q. and Columbus A. Rich Jr.; her God Children Tatiana Jones, Kennedy LaGon and Michael Sylvester Jr.; Her second parents – Aunt and Uncle Liz and Donald LaGon; her special friends Tiffany Mimms, Nikita Montgomery and Marissa Sylvester; her devoted sister-cousin Tiana LaGon and many many beloved family and friends.
