May your soul rest in Perfect peace! I was an Account Clerk when you were our Commissioner in Fed Public Complaints Commission. I thought you would hace reached 120yrs. You would have lived more if you were living in Advanced world.

I was honoured to be invited to send in a formal Tribute to the memory of Ven Professor Edmund Ilogu, but a severe constraint of time & other compelling commitments made this impossible in the 2-day time frame allowed and so, I take the opportunity of this website to pay a special tribute to Pa Ilogu. As Pa's double nwadiana - (our maternal grandmother was a daughter of the Ngobili Family of Umunnamehi Village, Ihiala, Anambra State while our great grandmother is a daughter of the IwuChukwu Family of Mbrakpaka Village, also in Ihiala), I came first to hear about and much later to know) him through my elder sister Mrs Ethel Momah and her husband Christian who worked alongside Pa at the then University College, Ibadan and my younger sister Rev (Dr) Daisy Obi who worked under Pa much later as a young intern in the Dept of Religious Broadcasting in the then Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), Old Ikoyi Road, Lagos. All of us have since related closely with Pa who treated us warmly as his umudiana. We also came to relate closely with his late wife and their children - in various locations and different levels.
Pa was an accomplished & highly acknowledged Theologian - nationally and internationally - but he also maintained a close and constant identity with his Ihiala and Igbo roots both at home and in the Diaspora.
Their children epitomise good family upbringing, sound education and professional excellence and accomplishments.
Pa Ilogu lived a long and fulfilled life of service in the Lord's Vineyard and my prayer for him is that he may in God's unfailing mercy receive, as described by St Paul in 2 Timothy, verse 8, "the Crown of Righteousness"!

May the soul of Pa Nnanyi-ochie Ven Professor Edmund Ilogu rest in perfect peace and May the Almighty comfort, console and continue to guide and protect his children and wider family: Amen!

Paps, Paps can't believe you are gone! Like you always would say in Ibo "we won't live forever" and so we are trying to come to terms with the void your transition has left behind. You are gone but will never be forgotten, your love and dedication to your family and to each of us is highly appreciated. Your teaching, motivation and leadership will live in our hearts forever; I pray you rest in eternal peace and that light perpetual may shine upon you. With love from your son, Obiajulu.
