The Bingo Incident

March 14, 2016

One of the best memories I have of mom was when her, Gina and I went to the bingo.  I can't remember what was so funny, but the three of us were laughing so hard and standing there with our legs crossed so we wouldn't pee our pants.  But we couldn't stop laughing.  The harder we laughed, the more our legs got crossed and the funnier it was.

Mom loved country music, and now when I hear certain songs, I can just picture her snapping her fingers and singing along.

I sure miss those days.

a lifetime of stories for her, its hard to pick which ones to share...

there was one time we were driving from cochrane to sudbury, and we both really had to go to the bathroom.... we kept seeing signs for the gogama bbut gogama never seemed to appear. so, finally, she had papa pull over and went in the bush. i refused to go in the bush... so, we continued to drive and right after the next bend, there was the gas station....

right before she passed, she bought us tickets for a Jerry Lee Lewis show.. 'Great Balls of Fire'.. and all i remember is how much she enjoyed it and how her face lit up at that show.

the other night, me and ashley were drinking and i put on one of our old favorites... 'tie a yellow ribbon' by tony orlando. music always makes me think of her.. shania twain, hank williams, patsy clein, loretta lynn, johnny cash...its a great way to keep her memory going though.
*a song for a heart so big, god wouldnt let it live*

                      i miss you, Grams <3
