Vernon began life during the Great Depression of the 1920's. He grew up dirt poor, his Mother(Lillian) was the only parent he ever knew. He had 3 wives, his first marriage produced a daughter named Joan, he was divorced from Joan's Mom but raised Joan with the help of his Mother. His second wife was my Mother she died in 1961 and he was left with 2 children, myself & a younger brother, Vernon Jr. Then he married Katherine, tragically she died in a house fire in 1977, she saved his life by pushing him out the second story window of thier townhome. That fire also claimed the life of his Mother Lillian. Daddy died on a Sunday in June, he was 59, I miss him to this moment.
