Her Life
November 11, 2014

Born Sunday, March 28, 1948, in LaGrange, Georgia, Vickie was the daughter of Herman and the late Elsie Beard. She was married to Charles Looser of Lanett, Alabama for 44 years, had one child, Capt Andrew Looser, USAF, one grandchild Logan Andrew, and was expecting her second, a granddaughter, Addison Victoria Looser in late December. Mrs. Looser held a B.A. in History Education from West Georgia University, a M.A. in History from Auburn University, and a M.A. in Counseling from Troy University. Vickie held various teaching jobs at schools in the Valley area including Lagrange City Schools, Springwood School, Valley Jr. High, Lanett Jr. High, Lanett High School, and Southern Union State Community College. At Lanett High School she served as a History teacher and later as the Guidance Counselor as well as the Yearbook and Cheerleader Sponsor. She was active at the Lanett Congregational Christian Church serving in leadership positions as the church Clerk, on the Acolyte Committee, the Historical/Library Committee, the Publicity Committee, and on the Board of Christian Education as the President of the Women’s Fellowship. Mrs. Looser was a lifelong educator and had recently retired after thirty plus years in the field of education. She was most proud of the countless students that passed through her classroom and office throughout the years, and tried her hardest to help each one reach their highest potential; and could be found at every school function Lanett High had, especially the football and basketball games of her Lanett High Panthers. Along with education her hobbies included reading, painting, and spending time with her family.
