Mrs. Cavender was born Sunday, July 4, 1926, in Langdale, Alabama, the daughter of the late Captola Yates and Wyatt Mickle. She was a member of the United Congregational Christian Church of LaGrange and the Joseph Storey Sunday school class. Mrs. Cavender retired from Westinghouse after 22 years.

Survivors include her husband, Ford Cavender of West Point; her daughter, Nancy Zachry of LaGrange; her son Dennis Cavender and his wife Pam of West Point; her grandsons, John Zachry of LaGrange, Clint Cavender and his wife Tricia of Mobile; and 2 great grandchildren.
