Virginia Louise Herman Howell, 91, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.
A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Freddie Lee Herman and Lucy Hicks Herman. Virginia was a member of Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church and owned and operated Maurice’s Jewelry and Howell’s Shoe Shop for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 29, 2018 at Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Bruce Brooks. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are three sons, Maurice “Danny” Howell, Jr. of Oxford, Daryl Lane Howell (Brenda) of Oxford, Kimmie Knowland Howell (Cynthia) of Kittrell; a brother, William “Bill” Herman of Harleyville, SC; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Daniel Howell, Sr., five sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 29, 2018 prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall of Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church.
