Walter Lee Carter was born May 29, 1927 in Talbotton, Georgia. He was the eldest of nine children born to Willie Carter and Hattie Bell Walton Carter. In the early morning hours of Thursday, April 10, 2014, he departed his earthly life surrounded by his loving wife, Martha and his children.
