Walter Vernon Turner, 84, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2012 at his home.
A native of Mecklenburg County, Va., the son of the late Walter Mitchell and Ruby Evans Turner. He was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church and retired from Certainteed after many years of service.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Dr. Randy Pittman. Burial will be in Oak Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of forty-three years Jane Crute Turner of the home, two daughters , Cindy R. Milton(Larry) of Oxford, Kim T. Vick(Joe) of Henderson, three sisters, Doris T. Turgeon of Tomahawk, Wisconsin ,Martha T. Turner of Roxboro, Kathy T. Bonner of Georgia, a brother John Turner of Virgilina, Va., three granddaughters, two grandsons and two great grandsons. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys T. Ayscue.

Visitation 7:00-8:30 PM, Thursday evening, August 23, 2012 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home.
