I shall always remember Bill Franklin for many treasured reasons. He and wife Sue were some of finest people I have ever know. I knew them for more 40 years. The two of them left this world with many valuable contributions, particularly to their family and friends, but also to the world at large.

It's hard to believe it has been a year that we have been without Bill. He had an impact on so many lives as a teacher, coach, husband, father and grandpa. It was a pleasure to know him. I hope his family can relieve the happy times they had with him.

We did not have the opportunity to meet Bill until he came to his first Dawson Ex-Students homecoming a few years ago; but we learned quickly that he was a man of quality, very much at peace with himself and easy to communicate with about old Dawson days. We're grateful for getting to know him for a short time. Best Regards, Cecil and Billie Sanders of Dawson.

As you know, I (Jeani) first met Mr. Franklin when he was a teacher at my high school, CV. Bill was actually the one who introduced me to his brother in law Paul! We have so many good memories of times spent with your family when you would come up to Bend for New Years or go camping together- Bill would haul us all around in that big ol' suburban! Paul has a lot of good stories about Bill too! We really miss him and Sue so much. Aunt Karen put it all so well about the family reunions and we sure missed Bill at this last one!
We love you guys. Hugs and love,
Aunt Jeani and Uncle Paul

Having just returned from an Engstrom family reunion and memorial for our Mom (Sue's Mom), I've thought of the many good times and laughs we had with brother-in-law, Bill, at reunions. I can remember many times where Bill would say in his deep voice, "Now, Mother-in-Law", and she loved it because it was always said with humor and affection.
One reunion we were all huddled in a cabin on a rainy night and Bill had us all roaring with laughter telling the story of Dad taking him on a backpacking trip two days before he married Sue. He was so sore afterwards he could hardly walk and was convinced Dad didn't want him to marry her.
Bill was much loved by all our family and we will miss him dearly.

I have many fond memories of Bill and his family. Our families had many camping trips and bar-be-ques together which included much laughter. Bill loved those grandchildren and all the rest of his family. I'm so glad he was able to do all that he did including his stay in Alaska. He will be missed.

Bill was a Prince. I especially enjoyed his quick wit and caring attitude toward everyone he met. I was privileged to work with him for many years at CVHS and was proud to call him a friend. He will be missed but never forgotten. John and Connie Strohmayer

Dear Williams family,
Thank you for sharing this beautiful and heartfelt tribute with us.  The photos tell a story that needs no words.  Your dear family is in our prayers and good thoughts as you have SO much on your plate right now.  Know that we are with you and MISS YOU already!

What a perfect documentation of your dad's full life.  What a gift he was to so many and what a blessing you all are because of his dedication and love and energy that he seemed to share with all he met.

Sending hugs,
Beth Thomsen
